Substitute Pay Rate
4-year degree $ 8.66 per hour
2-year degree $ 8.00 per hour
High School Diploma or Equivalent $7.93 per hour
Highly Qualified (Long-Term) $130 per day (This rate of pay is not for day-to-day subbing, but for pre-approved long-term sub positions)
**Important Information for Substitutes**
As a substitute you will not be considered a regular employee, and will not be eligible for regular employee benefits such as insurance and retirement under the Florida Retirement System (FRS).
The Omnibus Reconciliation Act of 1990 (OBRA 90) introduced into law IRS Code Section 3121(b)(7)(F). As a result, all employees who are not covered by their employer’s retirement plan are automatically enrolled in the 401(a) FICA Alternative Plan.Under the 401(a) FICA Alternative Plan you will contribute 7.5% of your compensation, on a pre-tax basis, to an account in your name with BENCOR in place of Social Security tax deduction.
